Stop 1

Carrickfergus Castle

Carrickfergus Castle is the first stop on the Giant’s Causeway tour. Set beside Belfast Lough, this historic Norman castle is one of Northern Ireland’s best-known landmarks.

There is time to see the castle exterior and take photographs before the tour continues along the Antrim Coast.

Stop 2

Portaneevy Viewpoint

Our next stop is the Portaneevy Car Park & Viewpoint to see the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge from a distance for pictures. The nerve jangling Rope Bridge near the beautiful North Antrim village of Ballintoy, which has featured prominently in HBO’s Game Of Thrones, was first erected almost 350 years ago! We visit here for 15 to 20 minutes to take the pictures. Suspended above a 100ft drop into the rocky Atlantic Ocean below, the bridge spans 65ft and is 3ft wide.

Stop 3

The Dark Hedges

The Dark Hedges, located in County Antrim, is a picturesque and haunting avenue of towering beech trees, whose twisted branches form a canopy that creates an otherworldly and mystical atmosphere. It now attracts visitors from around the world after gaining fame as a filming location for Game of Thrones. Want to know why this tree-lined avenue is so famous? Read our Dark Hedges guide for its history, Game of Thrones connection and visitor tips.

This is also where we will stop for lunch.

Stop 4

Giant's Causeway

The highlight of the day is our stop to the giant’s causeway where you will be able to walk across the stones themselves.

Estimated to be a staggering 60 million years old!

Whether you prefer to believe the geological explanation of a volcanic eruption or indulge in the folklore of exploits of giants Finn McCool and Benandonner, either way you will leave with an unforgettable memory of this must-see geological phenomenon.

Stop 5

Dunluce Castle

Photo Opportunity: Dunluce Castle

We will make a stop for a photo opportunity of Dunluce Castle: A 16th Century castle perched dramatically on the rugged cliffs of Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast. It is a striking medieval fortress with a rich history.

Stop 6

Bushmills Whiskey Distillery

One of the oldest licensed whiskey distilleries in the world, with a rich history dating back to 1608. Known for its smooth and distinctive single malt whiskeys, Old Bushmills Distillery (established in 1784) uses locally sourced ingredients and traditional methods to craft its iconic products.

Benn Allen is the best! He made us laugh all day. He is entertaining, knowledgeable, born and raised in Belfast, knows about the history (good and bad) and all the stories of his country. He is genuine, energetic and fun. He has nice music on the bus between stops, when he takes a break from talking 😜. He deserves all the best. He has been the highlight of our 15 days trip around the UK. Cheers

The highlight of my North Ireland trip, it was organized. Lidnsey our tour guide and driver was super funny and informative… I did the Giant Causeway tour, it has several short stops, and the main two Dark Hedges and Giant Causeway. The views are breathtaking! Get early to the bus if you want to be able to choose nice stop in the bus. (Specially the windows), be prepared for a long day, but a very fill and fun day!

Our guide was funny and genuinely warm. For a full day of visits and commentary, you couldn’t ask for more. The closest competition wanted £35 for the same tour.
